| June 23, 2010 Maple Ridge Joins the BizPaL Network MAPLE RIDGE- Opening a business in Maple Ridge just became easier thanks to BizPaL, an online permit and licence service that helps entrepreneurs start up faster. The launch of BizPaL was welcomed today by Pitt Meadows-Maple Ridge-Mission MP Randy Kamp, Maple Ridge-Mission MLA Marc Dalton and Maple Ridge Mayor Ernie Daykin. “The Government of Canada is committed to cutting red tape for small businesses, because we know that small and medium sized businesses drive our local economy and provide local jobs,” says Kamp. “Small business owners don’t need the hassle of running around to get their licences and permits, and now, thanks to BizPaL, they won’t have to.” “This is a very efficient and convenient tool for anyone thinking about starting their own business,” says Dalton. “Making sure your new business has all the correct licences and permits can be quite stressful. BizPaL is a time-saving tool that provides peace of mind as well.” Entrepreneurs can use BizPaL to receive a personalized list of the permits and licences needed to establish and run their business. This unique partnership between federal, provincial, territorial, regional and local governments is designed to cut through the paperwork burden small businesses face. “As a former small business owner, I fully appreciate the efficiency and savings that BizPaL offers the business community,” says Daykin. “With Maple Ridge primed and ready for new business investment, BizPaL streamlines our municipality’s business permitting and licensing process which will ultimately benefit the local economy and the community as a whole.” The BizPaL service in Maple Ridge was developed with the support of Industry Canada, in collaboration with the District of Maple Ridge and the Province of British Columbia.
